Want to learn the basics, but don’t know where to start?

Our workshop is designed for those who enjoy photography, but are just beginners. This workshop is for those who don’t know a lot about their camera and want to make photographs that better capture the beauty of what they see. The first part of our workshop will be devoted to understanding and then practicing composition. Without doing anything different with your camera you will improve your photographs by identifying “the star of the show” and arranging the elements in an aesthetically pleasing manner. Then we will move to understand how the three fundamental elements of creating a photograph all interrelate. We will show you the difference and what happens to a photograph when you change the aperture, shutter speed and ISO, and how to change each of these settings. Finally, we will practice these concepts so you can experience first-hand how you can use them to create beautiful photographs.

What You’ll Learn

  • Ways to create a good composition

  • How aperture, shutter speed and ISO affect a photograph

  • How to create a properly exposed photograph

  • How to choose the aperture, shutter speed to convey motion and depth of field
