What's Coming in 2018

It’s already February – can you believe it? With 2018 being well under way, we’re endlessly working to improve our business and to make everything more efficient while at the same time expanding our reach and what we’re able to offer. And that’s why I’m writing – to let you know what’s in store from us this year!

Make an Account

If you haven’t already heard, we recently updated our booking process. You no longer have to leave our website, and you can even create an account with us to save your details for later bookings. We’ve introduced the option for our students to carpool, too, and hopefully help you save some gas, and the environment. This new process also applies to our photo tours and reserving your space with a deposit! Make an account with us here.

Workshops & Tours

Our 2018 workshops and tours are also live, and we’ll be adding more here and there intermittently. We just added a sunset workshop for Old Stone Church, and a Night & Stars workshop at Cathedral of the Pines! Sign up soon – our workshops fill fast! We're offering 8 photo tours this year, more than we've ever done.

We're finally listed and we want your feedback!

Our tutorial videos integrated into the Sun Surveyor app.

Our tutorial videos integrated into the Sun Surveyor app.

You may know already that we have partnered up with Sun Surveyor, an app that we’ve used for years to scout out photo locations and to plan our images all over the world. In 2017, we created video tutorials for Sun Surveyor users which are integrated into the app, and certain tour registrants are able to receive a free copy from us. We love collaborating with like-minded companies to create better experiences for our students, so we’re hoping to affiliate with more photo brands this year. There will be more to come.

Lens Cloth & Sticker Series

We also launched a small ‘contest’ where our fans voted for the image on our annual lens cloth. Our 2018 lens cloth will feature Diamond Beach in Iceland, taken by Paul on our photo tour there last year. We’re also really excited to be adding a new feature – a clip on pouch! Don’t let your lens cloth be homeless. As if that wasn’t enough, we’re working on an awesome location-based sticker & shirt series.

Can't wait to get our hands on these. Final design does not include the tiara and bouquet...

In honor of our first tour of 2018: the Italy design in our new sticker series. All designs are digitized photographs from our travels. They'll potentially even become tour mementos in the form of a T-shirt!

Online Video Courses

Our main focus (aside from tours and workshops) this year will be creating comprehensive online learning modules that will be available for purchase on our Vimeo channel. You’ll be able to select topics such as Intro to Photography, Landscape Photography, Low-Light & Night, etc. and learn from us online. We’ll break down each topic into digestible videos that are concise and integrate a lot of what you’d learn on a workshop on location with us!

Join our Licensee program

And last but not least, we’re launching our licensee program. Want to be an instructor too? If you know your stuff and want to teach others, you can apply here. We’ve taken on a couple of photographers already who are hosting workshops all across New England. We handle almost all of the administrative details and provide you with materials. We’ll even promote your workshops too. You’ll get to keep a generous 70% of revenue. Learn more here.

We hope you’re as excited about 2018 as we are!
